“Belief is most powerful of all,” says Abhishek Salvi, an Indian Artist and Illustrator from Vadodara, Gujarat. Abhishek has a life worth knowing about.
Abhishek is a college dropout. He never wanted to quit his studies, but there were situations he had to fight with. He was pursuing his bachelors in the Faculty of Fine arts in Moviemaking when things started getting nasty in his life.
After the loss of his father when he was in his school, he tried putting up with the situations around him, but in a couple of years, his family’s situation started getting worse when his brother went on an inexact path and went into debt, which Abhishek knew nothing about. He trembled when his brother passes away. And soon he started knowing about the debts his brother had left for him, to be taken care of.
When Abhishek did quit college, it was only his skills in art and his belief in it which made him stand. When he knew that he won’t be able to try his career with anything else as, if he would focus on his studies, he would not be able to survive and so will have to focus more on making money and taking care of his mother in any possible way.
That is when he started going deeper. He initially started with pencil portraits. To make himself stand out, he made himself more active on Instagram. That is when he got to know about other artists as well, with whose work he got inspired. Gradually he moved to digital media, where he explored his style. He right now is a freelance digital artist and illustrator who majorly works on portrait artworks.
His artworks are widely followed and liked by thousands. Soon he plans on making it into his profession.
Abhishek says, “though it was out of compulsion, I am happy that I ended up in this field, it makes me happy that at the end of the day when someone gift’s my artwork to their loved ones, it makes them smile. That is what gives me the utmost satisfaction.”
