On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi confidently proclaimed that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government in Odisha would fall on June 4, 2024, which will be the day the results of the assembly election are revealed. At his first-ever state election rally, Modi called on the populace to support the Nationalist Party (BJP) in order to elevate Odisha to the top of the Indian states.
Modi underlined the need for a leader who understands Odia language and culture, hinting an imbalance between the current government and the state’s ethos in a subdued barb at BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
“The BJP’s double-engine administration in Odisha is bringing in a new era of progress.” On June 4, 2024, the BJD government will come to an end, Modi vowed at the rally in Berhampur.
Modi stressed the apparent shortcomings of the existing administration by pointing out that the BJD government’s lack of implementation is the reason Odisha has not fully profited from programs like Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Despite Odisha’s richness of resources from nature, lush land, and coastline, Modi bemoaned the state’s ongoing poverty and pledged that the BJP would begin a groundbreaking program.
“We have presented a bold programme that pledges to empower women, provide healthcare for the elderly, and create jobs for youngsters. Modi declared, “We deliver on what we promise.”
Odisha’s parliament and parliamentary elections are on the same day, thus Modi invited people to the BJP’s swearing-in ceremony on June 10 and promised to instantly execute the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a plan that the current administration is resisting.
In response to criticism on the lack of cultural representation in government, Modi emphasized the demand for leaders with a solid foundation in Odia cultural traditions to further the state’s growth.
In an attempt to attract backing for the BJP, Modi promised the people of Odisha that, under his direction, their state would rank as the number one in five years.
Modi painted the BJP as the best hope for development in the state of Odisha, accusing the Congress and the BJD of being culpable for the state’s dearth of progress despite its wealth of resources.
With the recent appointment of its sister to the nation’s oldest office, the BJP has paid honor to Odisha. I’m committed to do a lot for the state of Gujarat with President Droupadi Murmu’s help,” Modi said.
Senior BJD leader VK Pandian commented to Modi’s forecast by affirming Naveen Patnaik’s impending June 9 appointment for a sixth term in office.
Modi’s statement sets the tone for a tough attempts in which the fate of the state is at stake as Odisha prepared for its pivotal poll battle.
