Canada Grants Permanent Residency To More Than 437,000 Foreigners In 2022

Canada by granting permanent residency to more than 437,000 foreigners in 2022 has set a record of highest immigrations.

When Canada has surpassed the previous record set in 1913, then Canada seeks to bring in 1.45 million new permanent residents by the end of 2025. Canada has reached the annual target of bringing in the largest people in the Canadian history, said by the immigration ministry.  In 2022, the government had set a target to welcome 431,645 new permanent residents.

Canada has additionally struggled to hold up with a surge in packages after COVID-19 pandemic associated restrictions eased because the wide variety of processed applications doubled to approximately 5.2 million in 2022 from the previous year, the ministry stated. The recent official data showed that from a high record of over a million open roles in Canada in May, there were 871,300 job vacancies in October and the most acute shortage of skilled labors in industries like healthcare.
