The Congress party is going to start the 3,570 km long Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari today i.e. on Wednesday. This journey will pass through 12 states of the country and will end in Srinagar. Former party president Rahul Gandhi will begin the yatra after attending a prayer meeting at the memorial of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in Sriperumbudur.
The Congress expects the Bharat Jodo Yatra to be a “transformative moment” for Indian politics. The Yatra will pass through 12 states in the next 150 days.
In such a situation, the question arises that where and how will Rahul Gandhi stay for five months during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’? Where will they eat food and where will they sleep at night? Similarly, how will the passengers accompanying them eat, live and sleep? People’s eyes are fixed on all these questions.
During the 3570 km ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Rahul Gandhi’s home will be a container, which will be on the move. They will stay in this container for 150 days. Beds for sleeping, toilets and some have also been fitted with AC. During the India Jodo Yatra, the temperature and heat will have increased in many areas, in the 3570 km journey, there are many areas where there will be severe heat and humidity. Therefore, the arrangement of AC has been made in the container. Apart from this, mattresses and toilets have also been made to sleep in the container itself. Therefore, all the leaders going on the Yatra have been told that laundry facilities will be available only once in 3 days.
Rahul Gandhi and his accompanying passengers will be accommodated in containers every day during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which runs for 3570 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. For this, about 60 containers have been prepared as shelters, which are kept on trucks. All these containers will not be carried during the Rahul Yatra, but will be delivered to the people involved in the journey at the designated place at the end of the day.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that this visit is necessary because negative politics is being done in the country and real issues related to the people are not being discussed. He said that the purpose of the yatra is to focus on issues related to the people like inflation, unemployment. Delhi Congress says that its visit is political, but its purpose is not to take political advantage, but to unite the country. Congress has chosen 118 such leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, who will accompany him in the entire journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. These people have been named ‘Bharat Yatris’.
If the history of this type of travel is seen, then in the 1980s also such travel was seen when Janata Party President Chandrashekhar traveled across the country from Kanyakumari to Delhi.
