Indian inventor Indrajeet Singh had a royal dinner with Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Health Minister of India.

Indian inventor Indrajeet Singh, a 10th grade student of Barajamada High School, has secured 9th position at the national level by presenting the model of his solar bicycle at the Inspire Award 2016. Indrajeet Singh was honored by Union Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Harsh Vardhan at the event held at CSIR Complex in New Delhi. Not only this, the Health Minister of India, Dr. Harsh Vardhan invited Indrajeet Singh over the porcupine meal and had a meal together.

In the world of invention, a small village of Barajamada in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand has been left behind. The sting of his achievement was so great that the President’s call was reached. Indrajeet Singh has created a bicycle that runs on solar energy. The bicycle is so amazing that you can reach the height without sweating. When the tales of this bicycle reached Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Ramnath Kovind sent an invitation to Indrajeet Singh to come to Delhi.

This inspiring story is of a young man from West Singhbhum area of Jharkhand who lived in the midst of deprivation but with strong will, built a bicycle which is powered by solar energy (Solar cum Electric Bicycle). Even though this invention was not recognized initially, but now they have started getting orders for bicycles.

19-year-old Indrajeet Singh is a graduate student but at the same time, he has another identity and is an Young Indian Entrepreneur and Innovator. Indrajeet Singh, who has been fond of understanding and making machines since childhood, has so far made many inventions which are helpful for the general public. Firstly, realizing the problem of children walking in mountainous areas, he made solar cycle and then also made low cost portable chironji decorticator machine to help the farmers of Chironji in the village.

Indrajeet’s father is a bus driver and has two siblings at home. The financial situation is not so good that his parents used to teach him in a big school. He completed his schooling from government schools and continued to participate in various types of science projects there. If the school were to participate in any district level or state level competition, then Indrajeet was asked to make something. Many times he even faced discrimination in his school. The project he created was forwarded to other children.

“It happened to me once or twice but I did not give up. Because I knew that I had the skills to do more. So I was busy making a small workshop at home. Whenever I get any money, I would bring instruments from him to work on my ideas, ”he said.

Once he received the Solar Light in the award and this made him understand the technique of solar work. Understanding the solar light, Indrajeet thought that if so much could be done with solar, would his cycle also be able to run with solar power? He started working on it at his level. He bought a second-hand motor, removed the solar panel of the solar light and added other things. Along with his schooling, he got involved in making solar bicycles.

“At first I was doing a trial, but then I saw that many children have difficulty in reaching school because of the mountain path. For those who have a bicycle, it is easy to get down the slope but equally difficult to climb yourself and bicycle on the slope. I tried to think of them as well so that they could easily come through such paths, ”he Said.

Meanwhile, in the year 2016, he also got a chance to attend the INSPIRE Awards organized by Honey Bee Network and National Innovation Foundation. First he won the first prize at the district level and then he was called to Ranchi for the next level. But at that time there was no one to go with him.

“I never went out of my city alone and the school did not get any help from it. The family members also said that there is no need to leave. But I left home alone at night and reached Ranchi by train. After this I was called to Delhi, where Dr. Harsh Vardhan honored me and I got an opportunity to meet Anil sir, ”he said.

After winning the Inspire Award, he also got a chance to go to the Sakura Exchange Program in Science in Japan. However, even after getting so much respect, he could not get any financial help from anywhere. Neither to further their innovation nor to their studies.

After passing high school, he reached Jamshedpur and from there he passed his class 11th and 12th. He also worked part time at different places to work on his studies and his innovation. He explains that the solar cycle has helped him a lot in Jamshedpur.

Indrajeet’s second innovation is the Low Cost Portable Chironji Decorticator. He explains that farmers have to extract the fruit of Chironji by hand because whatever machine is there for it is very expensive. There is no such machine that is for low-cost and small farmers. Farmers do not take much time in this process and neither do they get good results. So he created this machine to help the farmers. For this machine, he has also been awarded the Ignite Award by former President Pranab Mukherjee in the year 2018. He has also been honored for this machine of his.

To market these two innovations as its products, Indrajit has decided to start a social enterprise Tribal and Rural Innovation Foundation-India (TRIF-INDIA) is an Indian non-governmental organization operating in the state of Jharkhand. Through this, he not only wants to spread his innovation to others, but also to give employment to those who want to build something to help others in rural areas.

Indrajeet is a talented student: Amod Kumar Mishra, a teacher of Barajamada High School, said that Inderjit Singh is a very talented student. Due to hard work and creative thinking, Bada Jamda High School has reached the national level. At the same time, Indrajit Singh’s parents and school headmaster Imtiaz Nazim wished a bright future.

Was fond of machines since childhood

Indrajeet Singh says that he loved machines since his childhood. Once in childhood, he had opened the radio at home to see how it sounded. Due to love of his machines, whenever there was a science competition in the school, it was sent to Indrajit. Many times it has happened that the project created by Indrajit has been sent in the name of another student. Indrajeet never got frustrated with all these things. He was sure that at some point he would get recognition because of his work and it happened.
