Jio 5G: Full list of eligible cities, how to activate and price in India

Jio, one of the leading telecom operators has started to roll out its 5G services in 50 Indian cities. 5G Standalone (SA) network was established irrespective of the existing 4G core. It has to be noted that, Jio is offering the service on an invitational basis.

The telecom operator has decided to launch 5G and is available, in around cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Gurugram, Noida, Hyderabad, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and in all 33-district headquarters of Gujarat.

As earlier networks, 5G networks are also based on geographical areas called “cells”, which are cellular networks. The local antenna in the cell connects the telephone network to the internet via radio waves. In comparison to the preceding networks, 5G network has higher download speed that is up to 10 gigabits per seconds. As for the devices, the Global Mobile Association has released the first database tracking 5G device launches. It had been announced that there seven 5G devices form factors, namely, telephones, hotspots, modules, indoor and outdoor customer premises, Snap-On dongles and adapters, and USB terminals.

Several mobile phone companies have 5G supporting devices such as Apple iPhone later versions can support 5G. Also, as per official sources the study on 5G health controversy which was later on declared erroneous, as the experts assured that the 5G waves are safer than low frequency microwaves as they cannot reach the internal organs.

Therefore, 5G is all-set to be deployed and it can be accessed by following the suggested procedure; opening the ‘settings’ in smart phone, ‘Jio SIM’ is to be selected in the ‘Mobile networks’ by tapping on 5G on the ‘Preferred network type’ option 5G will be activated.

Mukesh Ambani led telecom service company, Jio has stated that it will install deploy the 5G services in more cities at the end of the year 2022. Hence, it is a PAN India coverage, as stated in the 45th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Jio. It is said that the customers will get an additional unlimited data plan as they subscribe for the 5G active recharge plan, which work as a valid active base plan. The plan will only work if the users have the active plan of Rs. 239 or higher as prepaid already. Same applies to the post-paid users as well.

Mukesh Ambani stated in of the events about the company’s 2 lakh crore investment to build its Standalone 5G infrastructure.
