Are you struggling to find enough time in the day to get things done? You’re not alone. Many of us feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything we want to do. The good news is that you can reclaim some of that precious time by removing four useless things from your life. These things may seem small, but they can add up to a solid 20 hours a week—time that you can use to do something meaningful and productive.

1. Social Media Distractions

Social media is great for staying connected and sharing information, but it can also be an enormous time waster. Every time you check your news feed, you’re losing valuable time that could be put to better use. Set limits on how much time you spend on social media each day and stick to them. You may be surprised at how much time you can reclaim by just cutting back a bit.

2. Unnecessary Errands

Errands are a part of life, but many of us waste too much time on them. Before you head out, ask yourself if the errand is really necessary. Can you order something online instead? Can you find a less time-consuming way to get the job done? Even small changes add up and can help you save time.

3. Unproductive Meetings

Meetings are often necessary, but they can quickly become unproductive time-suckers. Before you schedule a meeting, think about whether it’s really necessary. Can you accomplish the same goals with an email or a phone call? If you do have to have a meeting, set an agenda and stick to it.

4. Unnecessary Interruptions

Interruptions can be hard to avoid, but they can also be a major time waster. Try to limit the number of interruptions you have during the day, and designate certain times when you can be reached. Let people know that you’re available during those times, but that you need time to focus on your work.

By removing these four useless things from your life, you can reclaim 20 hours a week. That’s 20 extra hours that you can use to do something meaningful and productive. With a little discipline and some creative thinking, you can get the most out of your time.
