Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away, breathed his last at Medanta Hospital , Gurugram

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and SP Patron Mulayam Singh Yadav has passed away. He breathed his last at 8.16 am today. He was 82 years old. He was on a ventilator at Medanta Hospital. His condition had remained critical since last Sunday. After the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, there was a wave of mourning among the SP workers.

Mulayam, who was a wrestler and teacher, played a long political innings. He was the Chief Minister of UP thrice. Defence Minister at the Centre. He is also known for his bold political decisions.

On August 22, he was admitted to Medanta Hospital. Mulayam Singh was shifted to the ICU on the night of October. Mulayam Singh Yadav was being treated by a panel of doctors from Medanta. SP President Akhilesh Yadav and other family members are with him.  

Expressing grief over the demise of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, “Mulayam Singh Yadav carved a niche for himself in UP and national politics. He was a major figure and key soldier for democracy during the Emergency.

Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav informed about the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav. He tweeted and wrote that my respected father and leader are no more. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced three days of state mourning on the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Mulayam Singh’s last rites will be performed with full state honours.

Priyanka Gandhi expressed grief over the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav. He tweeted and wrote that the sad news of the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav was received. His matchless contribution to Indian politics as a former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Defense Minister of the Government of India and a strong advocate of social justice will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to Akhilesh Yadav and all other loved ones. May Ishwar give place to Mulayam Singh Yadav amongst Shri Charan’s feet.
