Famous screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar replied calmly to filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s recent appraisal of the successful television show Mirzapur, that is produced by Farhan Akhtar’s production company.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga had shown hatred for Mirzapur in a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, saying that it was full of vulgar phrases and would leave viewers uncomfortable. Javed Akhtar, however, replied to this criticism with a sense of respect, complimenting Vanga for the appreciation.
Talking with Mojo Story, Akhtar remarked on the nonsense of Vanga’s feedback, pointing out that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had a 53-year career and was never able to find any unpleasant in his work. Instead, he turned to analysing a series on television that Excel Entertainment, the production company of Farhan Akhtar, participated in that Javed Akhtar didn’t have a direct role in.
It was very adorable. You work for 53 years and failed to find anything offensive to you? What a shame,” Akhtar said, given Vanga’s choice of pointing his finger at Mirzapur rather than at his area of specialisation.
Shifting our attention to his own projects, Javed Akhtar is currently working on the lyrics for Lahore 1947, that will star Sunny Deol, Karan Deol, and Preity Zinta. Sandeep Reddy Vanga is pursuing his passion for cinema in the film industry in his spare time with projects like the spirit and Animal Village in the works.
The debate between prominent industry figures like Javed Akhtar and Sandeep Reddy Vanga shows the variety of points of view that contribute to the vibrant Bollywood environment. Although disputes and grievances are prevalent, they truly promote analysis and growth in the entertainment sector.
